Why Choose a Celebrant For Your Wedding?

Choosing a celebrant for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony gives you so much choice and flexibility when it comes to the content and location of your ceremony. If any of the following apply to you, a celebrant-led ceremony could be the perfect choice:

  • You would like to hold your wedding at a non-licensed venue, such as a garden, field or marquee.

  • You were married abroad and would like to have a separate ceremony to celebrate with all your family and friends.

  • You would like a mixture of religious and non-religious content in your ceremony, or perhaps a mixture of different customs.

  • You want your ceremony to have a personal angle, rather than a 'choose option A, B or C' style; perhaps telling the story of how you met or declaring what you love most about one another.

  • You would prefer to meet and get to know the person leading your ceremony in advance of the big day.

Working with a celebrant ensures that the content of your ceremony can be completely tailored to you. Ceremonies can incorporate as much tradition as you like but can also include elements of fun and laughter, storytelling, personal vows, speeches, poems, singing... anything you like! As a celebrant I'm here to listen to your wishes and make them happen, but I can also provide lots of ideas and inspiration wherever you need it.

How Does it Work?

Working with me to plan your ceremony is both easy and fun! Here's how it all works...

Weddings and civil partnership ceremonies in 2020/2021 are priced at £550.

This includes travel within a 30-mile radius of Cheam, Surrey. For weddings further afield, additional mileage will be charged at 45p per mile.

It is important to note that in England and Wales, only registrars and certain religious officials can perform legal marriage and civil partnership ceremonies. If you choose to have a celebrant-led ceremony you will also need to book a date to legally register your marriage/partnership beforehand. See my FAQs for more information.

My fee covers the entire process outlined above. Optional extras include:

  • Rehearsal at your venue: £80 (including travel within a 30-mile radius)

  • Order of Ceremony design, printing and distribution: 80p per copy.

Special offer

Planning an Autumn/Winter wedding? I am offering a 10% discount on my fee for all weddings taking place in November and December 2020. Contact me for more information.

"You captured exactly what we wanted to say in terms of wording, tone and content, and put us both at ease throughout. The day just wouldn’t have been the same without you."
